Academia and industry, how they (don't) work together

Featured presentation

At a lively afternoon SIG meeting on 19 June 2007 on Trends and Current Issues in Intellectual Property Rights Protection, James Robertson's provocative talk Academia and industry, how they (don't) work together (pdf) was the subject of considerable debate. Co-author of Marks and Clerk's Biotech Report 2007, he showed how Europe lags behind the USA and Japan in biotech patenting, and proposed a number of interesting solutions.
